Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the launch of a new Special Issue titled "Innovative Approaches to Periodontitis and Peri-implantitis Management" in the Journal of Biological Methods, indexed in PubMed. This issue will focus on advanced research and novel therapeutic techniques in periodontology and implantology, particularly in the management of periodontitis and peri-implantitis.

Periodontitis continues to affect a significant portion of the global population, with severe cases remaining alarmingly prevalent. Additionally, while dental implants are the preferred solution for tooth replacement, biological complications—both early and late—pose challenges to long-term success. Peri-implantitis, in particular, is a growing concern, as it can lead to implant failure if not addressed effectively. Recent advancements in biomarker identification, implant surface disinfection, and regenerative therapies offer promising solutions to mitigate these complications.

This special issue aims to present high-quality research in basic and clinical studies related to periodontitis and peri-implantitis. We welcome in vitro, in vivo, and clinical submissions that investigate new approaches to enhance the non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontitis and peri-implantitis, as well as approaches to managing tissue regeneration, improving implant surface characteristics and utilizing biomarker-driven therapies for both conditions. Systematic reviews and narrative reviews will also be considered.
