Journal of Biological Methods Launches Recruitment for the Youth Editorial Board
Journal of Biological Methods (JBM) is a peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality research in cutting-edge and innovative biological techniques, methods, and protocols. It was founded in 2014 and has published 12 volumes. All articles published by JBM are made immediately available worldwide under an open-access license. The journal is currently indexed in PubMed Central (PMC), Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), ASCI, EBSCO, Google Scholar, CrossRef, OCLC, and Portico. To further enhance the journal’s global reach, academic impact, and editorial vitality, we are pleased to announce the recruitment of members for the Youth Editorial Board. We warmly invite outstanding early-career researchers with strong academic potential and enthusiasm for scholarly publishing to join us and contribute to the continued advancement of JBM. Recruitment Criteria Applicants should meet the following requirements: A solid academic background with strong research capabilities, having published at least three papers as first or corresponding author in reputable international journals within the past three years. Under 40 years of age, holding a Ph.D. or an associate professorship (or higher). Strong interest in and good understanding of biomethodology and technological innovation, cutting-edge biomedicine, and application- and translational research. Willingness to actively participate in journal-related activities and contribute constructive suggestions for journal development. Prior experience as an editorial board member or peer reviewer for international journals is preferred. Responsibilities Journal Promotion: Promote JBM at international academic conferences and scholarly exchange events; Promote the journal via academic and social media platforms, including X, LinkedIn, and WeChat. Peer Review: Provide high-quality, constructive peer reviews for at least three manuscripts per year, helping to maintain and improve the journal’s academic standards. Academic Contribution: Submit one high-quality research or review article during the term of appointment. Journal Development: Collaborate with the editorial team to propose special issues or thematic topics aligned with emerging research trends in biomethodology. Benefits Appointment as a Youth Editorial Board Member for a two-year term (renewable based on performance). Opportunities to stay at the forefront of research developments through participation in peer review. Article Processing Charge (APC) Waiver: One free publication per year. Priority invitations to academic activities organized by the journal, including virtual and in-person events. Opportunities to serve as Guest Editor for special issues. Expedited review and priority handling for manuscripts submitted as first or corresponding author. Promotion of academic achievements, team news, or recruitment announcements through the journal’s official platforms. Outstanding Youth Editorial Board members may be promoted to the regular Editorial Board based on sustained contributions. How to Apply 1. On August 1st, 2025, Journal of Biological Methods (JBM, Online ISSN: 2326-9901) was included in the esteemed database, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). This achievement stands as a significant milestone for our journal since its inception, signifying a remarkable acknowledgment of JBM within the global academic community. The CAS database was founded in 1907 as a volunteer effort to organize published chemistry research. CAS officially became a self-supporting division of the American Chemical Society in 1956. CAS is widely acknowledged as the most comprehensive and authoritative source of chemical and scientific research.
