The Digestion & Immunity (DI) will charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 1600 for the acceptance and publication of an article submitted and accepted.
DI is an open-access journal. All articles published in the journal are freely accessible on the journal's website. To ensure content is freely available and maintain publishing quality, Article Processing Charges (APC) are levied on all authors whose papers are accepted for publication after peer review. These charges help cover the costs of manuscript processing, including copy-editing, typesetting, publishing, content deposition, and archiving.
In the event that authors insist on withdrawing a submission for unethical or unreasonable reasons, a withdrawal fee of 30% of the prevailing Article Processing Charge will be levied. In general, the editors of POL Scientific consider the following to be unethical and unreasonable reasons for withdrawal:
-
Unaware of or reluctant to pay the Article Processing Charge. Authors are advised to review the publication fees associated with the journal before deciding to submit. It is unethical to submit a manuscript and proceed through the editorial process without a clear plan to pay the Article Processing Charge upon acceptance.
-
Refusal to make all research data or findings available to the journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research data and findings are compatible with the journal's submission guidelines before submitting. There are no set criteria for how much data or findings should be published, but it is believed that studies in scientific and technological fields should include sufficient data to enable precise and accurate interpretations. Therefore, authors are encouraged to present and publish all relevant data and findings.
-
Desire to submit to a higher- or lower-impact journal. Authors should vet the journal’s background before submitting their manuscript. Submitting to a journal implies that the quality and standards of the submission match those of the journal.
