Installing a female by thread onto the end of a male connector or vice versa. It is recommended that you use a universal joint lock (at least E-clips) to attach the female bsp threads onto the joint end. Make sure to install all screws into the subframe before tightening them down with the screws. Test fit your new female camlock couplings on the joint and make sure that they work correctly before going ahead with the installation.

Installing a female camlock on a threaded adapter. A female camlock can be purchased which already has an adapter installed. These types of products usually have two holes drilled in the face of the female camlock, one going through the two holes in the adapter and the other into the threads of the adapter. Once you have the female camlock adapted to the new joint and adapter, place the two pieces together, and then screw them tightly together. You should be able to twist the joint at least 50% of the way right into the male threads of the adapter.

Installing a female camlock on a global type housing. Installing a female camlock on a global type housing is pretty much like installing a male version on a male threaded adapter. You will need to determine which style of housing your global type has (i.e. NPT or SCT), mark the appropriate hole locations on the female camlock and then pre-drill a few pilot holes for the screws to lie in a secure position.

Installing a female camlock on a stainless steel bolt. Stainless steel bolt Housing has a small flat spot on the inside corner of the bolt body. It is used as a stop line to prevent the threads of the female out or SCT from going too far into each other when they are placed into the flat spot. To install a female camlock onto a stainless steel bolt, make sure the holes are drilled precisely into each of the corners of the bolt body, and then pre-drill the appropriate pilot holes. This process should leave a couple of small pilot holes that are accessible through the small flat spot on the inside of the bolt.

Installing a female camlock onto a plastic adapter. The female camlock adapter is made out of a thin layer of plastic. To install this type of housing onto a plastic adapter, place the adapter in the female camlock slot, and make sure that the mating surface of the two is flush with the top of the plastic cavity. After putting the housing in the right position, pre-drill the corresponding pilot holes, and then screw on the two screws to seal the fitting into the plastic cavity.

Installing a female camlock on a wooden dowel. The female npt or SCT is screwed into a wooden dowel slot, usually with brass screws. To install a female camlock onto a wooden dowel, begin by lining up the dowel slot with the outermost edge of the cam lock coupling surface. Then push the coupling surface down into the dowel, and screw it down into the brass screw with enough screws to hold it in place. To seal the fitting into the wood, pre-drill the pilot holes, and then screw them on to the wooden dowel to seal the fitting.

Installing a female out or SCT into a housing with a metal coupling. The SCT is installed like any other camlock fittings. To install a female out or SCT into a housing with a metal coupling, place the adapter’s side pieces against the inside face of the housing. Drill a few pilot holes, and then screw the side pieces of the adapter onto the studs in the metal coupling. To seal the fitting, pre-drill the pilot holes, and then attach the female out or SCT to the fitting.
